| Andrea Lieberherr received her M.F.A. in Flute and Violin Performance from the California Institute of the Arts, Valencia, CA; her B.A. in Literature and Performance and B.A. in Chemistry from Northeastern University, Boston, MA. Her teachers include Mark Menzies, Rachel Rudich, Paul Fried, Dorothy Stone, and Jacqueline DeVoe. She has studied improvisation with Vinny Golia, Bill Lowe and Leroy Jenkins.† She has performed in venues around the world, in Symphony Hall, Boston; Lincoln Center, New York City; Zipper Concert Hall, REDCAT, Los Angeles; with the Orchester-Gesellschaft in Winterthur, Switzerland; and the Orquesta de UDLA, in Puebla, Mexico; and has toured Italy with the Greater Boston Youth Symphony.† Specializing in new music, she plays a wide variety of types of music, from classical music to jazz, from world music to experimental improvisational music. |
